the markets are often called christmas markets when their real name is "advent markets" . so these close down at christmas. granted that they are filled with what we refer to as christmas decorations. there are some markets open after christmas day, but these are "new year markets " or "silvestre markets", selling good luck charms etc. of course, there will still be some food stalls open too
